Fishermans' Rest oversees the community centre in a 1 acre site, a ten minute walk from Fisherman’s Rest. The site consists of a multipurpose building, a covered outdoor activity area, a sports ground and borehole with a play pump for community use.
The staff, visitors and volunteers at Fishermans' Rest engage with the centre in a broad range of activities and exciting and evolving projects.
The centre also offers a preschool run by the community. The children are introduced to the alphabet, basic reading, listen to stories and play lots.
We do appreciate the help of suitable volunteers to assist the preschool team with training in administration, planning and teaching.
The centre hosts Interdenominational Bible Teaching. The main objective here is to improve the standard of Bible knowledge amongst church leaders and to encourage discussion and debate between Christians of the many denominations we find in our neighbourhood. It is a family event with wives, husbands and children, who participate in additional programs laid on at the time.
