Teams of students work on coordinated programs through Fisherman's Rest, now for the 7th year running. Team members stay from two weeks to three months passing on experience and continuity from one group to the next. The experience is dynamic, exciting and broad.
The teams are well structured, prepared and supported through team leaders. Through discussion, participants are offered suitable placements. While experience is not required, a willingness to work and serve is.
This dynamic, practical and hands on work includes teaching, sharing skills and knowledge, playing with children, building, maintenance and repairs, leading youth groups through study, sports and music, and sharing any other skills and talents on offer.
Visiting teams are introduced to a broad and complete understanding of Malawi, being exposed to the poverty and hardships within rural communities, visiting Malawi's National Parks and reserves, relaxing by the 'Lake of Stars' and sharing life with the local folk. We offer an expedition where every moment truly is a memory.
