Directions from Blantyre

Blantyre is a small city through which one can drive in less than ten minutes. Fisherman’s Rest is an easy 15 to 20 minute drive from city centre. A good starting landmark is the Catholic Cathedral (known as CI, Catholic Institute) sited on the Southern edge of Blantyre at the start of the M1. Fisherman’s Rest is exactly 20 kms south along this road.

Form the Cathedral, follow the M1, best known as the Chikwawa road (M1) south for approximately 19kms to the Mirale police check point. The police here are friendly and helpful. From here you will descend the escarpment for approximately one km and the entrance to the Lodge is signposted on the right, followed by the entrance to the Tea House 200 meters further down the road.
